Positives to take from Kasarani..

Positives are in plenty my people, even though it stinks to lose to Nigeria once again.

The loss yesterday was bitter. It was really hard to take, because the goal was scored late in the game and came off a defensive mistake. It was a bitter pill to swallow.

Just goes to show you how much the last minute goal they scored in Calabar is worth.

Onto other matters, and my point for the day is that as much as the loss hurts, there are plenty of positives to take.

First, is that we have a defensive line that can be relied on to play ball with the best of the best for the next many years, though we need to sort out our mess with playing central defenders by trade as fullbacks, as they give us zero attacking momentum.

In David Owino, David Ochieng, Brian Mandela, we have players who can play at the back for ages, and we still have the likes of Edwin Wafula and Abdulatif Omar to look forward to plus many other upcoming boys.

In central midfield, I was very impressed with how Johanna Omollo played. He was energetic, disciplined and stuck to his task. And we can also bank on Victor Wanyama for the next many years and the options there are in plenty too.

Plus we have Francis Kahata who is surely a star for the future and the likes of David Gateri and Ayub Timbe to come. All young, all classy and as you can see, not bad pickings at all.

Up top, we have a bigger problem, though we have the talent in our local leagues to blood a few strikers who can shoot us to glory in future like Paul Kiongera, Noah Wafula and others. And we still have Dennis Oliech for now, to help us while we look out for our next big strikers.

So if you ask me, we lost on the day, yes, but we can see that the future does not look too bad, only if we continue building on the positives, because they are in plenty.
