Iheanacho hopes to end 365 days goal drought at Leicester

Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho will be hoping to end the setback of a calendar year without goal when Leicester City host Tottenham Hotspur in Saturday’s Premier League clash at the King Power Stadium.

Iheanacho last scored for the Foxes in their 3-1 win over Huddersfield Town on September 22, 2018.

The 23-year-old has gone on a 24-game EPL goal drought, and is yet to feature for Leicester this season.

Though he did well during pre-season, scoring three goals for the Foxes, he still remain on the bench after five matches so far played.

The former Manchester City forward scored twice in 30 games in total last season for the Foxes compared to eight goals he scored in 27 games on his debut season with the Foxes.

Iheanacho’s lack of goals at Leicester City has also seen him lose his place in the Eagles squad. He was left out of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations and was an unused substitute in Nigeria’s 2-2 draw with Ukraine in Dnipro.
