Chelsea have received a major injury boost, with Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi set to step up their recovery with some Friday night action.
The youngsters will be involved with the Under-23 team when they take on Brighton Under-23 at the Stamford Bridge on Friday night.
Hudson-Odoi has been out for months now, following an Achilles injury he suffered against Burnely in April, while James suffered a damaged ligament in his ankle whilst on international duty with England in the summer.
Speaking on Friday during the pre-match press conference, manager Frank Lampard indicated the two will be in line for action with the senior team and will start with the youth game.
The two have been tipped for senior team action once they are fully fit, with the fans, in particular, excited to have James back.
The right-back is seen as a natural and long-term successor to Cezar Azpilicueta, who has struggled in the current campaign.
Hudson-Odoi, on the other hand, will battle for a starting role on his favoured position on the flanks but will face competition from the current crop of wingers including new addition Christian Pulisic, Willian, Pedro, and Mason Mount as well.
