Harambee Stars defender Yusuf Mainge begun his European adventure with an emphatic fashion as his side FK Pohronie emerged 9-0 winners over Selce in a Cup game hosted at SK Selce Stadium on Wednesday 14 August.
Mainge made the matchday squad after arriving in Slovakia on Monday night but had to start from the bench as he could only afford a session with the rest of the squad on Tuesday.
With his side having a 4-0 lead at the break, Mainge was introduced at the interval and helped his side to keep a clean sheet as they scored five more goals in the half.
The former AFC Leopards defender is now hoping for more after his debut which he described as a good feeling.
"I expected to learn more about my teammates in this match and didn't expect to play but you always have to be ready for anything. When I was told at half time to change and be ready, I couldn't believe it.
"I have been training back at home and it was no brainer. It was a good feeling to feature at this level and I know I still have a long way to learn. I hope this is the first of many," Mainge added.
The player who has been handed jersey number Four will hope he can get more playing time when they take on Zlate Moravce in a league game on Saturday.
