Harambee Stars striker Michael Olunga amassed 70 minutes as his Kashiwa Reysol managed a 1-0 win over Zweigen Kanazawa in a Japanese J2 league clash staged at the Sankayo Frontier Stadium on Saturday 20 July.
A goal by Brazilian Cristiano in the 23rd minute was all Kashiwa needed in the tie with the win seeing the side rising to second of the log with 43 points; the same number of points as leaders Kyoto Sanga.
The Kenyan striker who scored two goals in the just concluded African Cup of Nations was withdrawn for Junior Santos.
Olunga whose last goal for the side came last week against Ventforet Kofu will be hoping that he can play a part in Kashiwa’s next league game against Tochigi slated for Saturday 27 July.
Meanwhile, much travel Kenyan striker Tony Nyagor has reportedly joined Zambia Super League side Mighty Mafulira Wanderers for an undisclosed period.
Nyagor has been in the ranks of Real Nakonde in the nation’s second-tier and will now join a contingent of Kenyans in the nation’s top flight.
In Kenya, Nyagor featured for Nakuru All-Stars, Muhoroni Youth, Chemelil Sugar FC, Gor Mahia, Bandari FC among other teams.
