Kenyan Premier League giants AFC Leopards have roped Sony Sugar FC defender Robert Ayala Mudenyu for an undisclosed period.
Ayala has been on Leopard's radar for some time now and comes in to provide cover in a defence that lost David ‘Cheche’ Ochieng at the end of last season.
Mudenyu becomes the latest player to leave Sony with the club having experienced a mass exodus following the departure of head coach Patrick Odhiambo to Gor Mahia and their financial challenges.
Apart from Mudenyu, the club has acquired the services of Malian striker Ismaila Diarra on a two-year deal.
Diarra was linked with a move to the club in 2016 while at Rayon Sports and joins Hansel Ochieng who was roped early this week from Nzoia Sugar FC.
The duo will compete for a place with Vincent Oburu in aiding the club’s search of goals that barely dried in the last season from strikers.
Apart from the trio, the club’s new goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan is expected to link with the team in their preseason camp in Mumias.
The club is expected to make more signings before the window closes with their goalkeeper Jairus Adira being linked with a move to KPL rivals Posta Rangers.
