Former Manchester United midfielder Ravel Morrison has secured a surprise Premier League return with newcomers Sheffield United.
The talented midfielder has penned a 12-month contract with an option to extend his stay at Bramall Lane beyond the end of next season.
Wilder said of Morrison signing: “I've spoken to a number of people about him and it is clear that he has serious ability.
“We are getting a fantastic footballer with a tremendous pedigree and this is a great opportunity for Rav, we believe we can help him get back to the level he wants to be. He's done extremely well during his time with us. It wasn't about him coming and being on trial because we knew about his abilities.
“Taking him with us was basically getting to know him and what he's about, what makes him tick and how he integrates with the players.”
The contract is not understood to be on a pay-as-you-play basis but will reward the gifted 26-year-old if he can break into Wilder’s first team on a regular basis.
Morrison spent last season on loan at Swedish side Ostersunds and will hope that he can revive his career that promised soo much during his youthful days at Manchester United.
