Tanzania is confident they will pick the required points when they take on Kenya’s Harambee Stars in their second group game of the 2019 AFCON Tournament.
Both teams went down in their first clash with Tanzania going down to Senegal on a day that Stars went down to Algeria and according to Tanzania’s Michael Gadiel their knowledge about Kenya gives them a picture of what to expect.
“My belief is that the match against Kenya is the match where we are going to get points because they are our neighbors and we know how they play and they know us too so it will be an interesting match,” Gadiel said in an interview with the Tanzania Football Federation.
Gadiel, however, admitted that it will be a tough match since both teams were looking to proceed into the next round of the showpiece with Tanzania’s main aim being to showcase what they can do so as to market their game.
“It will be a tough match because both of us lost our opening games. That’s the match that will give us a clear picture of our chances in this tournament. And as players we are ready.
“If we lose this match it won’t be good for us and the entire Tanzania nation and if we win we will definitely having a chance of proceeding further in the showpiece. This is a tournament that we all want to participate in and showcase what we can do. We want more players to play in those international leagues and this is the platform to help us achieve that,” he added.
The clash between the neighboring countries is slated for Thursday.
