Departing Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany believes Pep Guardiola's charges are the best team in the world.
City became the first team to win a domestic quadruple in England with a 6-0 demolition of Watford in the FA Cup final on Saturday night and Kompany believes they are the best in the world even without a Champions League title.
“Whether we win or lose, we always celebrate. That’s City," the Belgian told cheerful supporters at the champions trophy parade on Sunday.
“You are the best club in the world. I don’t care if you win the Champions League or not. Remember it forever.
“These guys deserve all your love. Every day of the week, every year. This is the way I want to leave.
“Thank you. I love you. I’m out.”
The 33-year-old defender will rejoin his boyhood club Anderlecht as a player-coach.
