Sofapaka defender looking to repay coach Baraza’s faith

Faina Jacobs is looking to repay the faith shown to him by Sofapaka head coach John Baraza after being a constant figure since the tactician took over from Melis Medo.

The defender has formed a formidable partnership at the heart of Sofapaka defence with Burundian Moussa Omar despite spending most of his time on the bench at the start of the season.

“As a player, the most important thing for you is playing time and when coach Baraza showed confidence to give me a starting place, I had to work hard to repay his faith. Every time I would be on the pitch I wanted to play my best game possible and not let him down.

Position

“For him to give me a starting position meant he saw something in me and I had to deliver. I kept pushing each game and the teammates have also helped me a lot to play each game better,” Faina is quoted by the club’s website.

“The season has turned out very well and actually better than I thought. For me, this is a good step and hopefully, it can be a springing board for next season.”

Faina joined Sofapaka from Nakumatt FC (now Mount Kenya United) and has previously featured for KCB FC and Muhoroni Youth.
