West Ham's Nathan Holland could feature for Southampton clash
West Ham United winger Nathan Holland has a high possibility of making the squad for this weekend's first team-game, a former employee suggested.
In a The West Ham Way podcast on Phoenix FM, it was revealed that Holland could make an appearance for the Hammers when they host Southampton.
Many West Ham fans believed that the youngster deserves a fair shot at first-team football; with the winger having excelled immensely at U23 level and with roughly two games left, he could finally get his chance.
West Ham signed Holland from Everton back in 2017 and has since made a lone appearance for the senior team; which came through a substitution in an EFL Cup win over Bolton Wanderers.
The former England U19 winger has been working tirelessly to get more first-team opportunities but injury woes have restricted his progress.
While other youngsters like Conor Coventry, Joe Powell, and Grady Diangana made their maiden debuts against Macclesfield Town, Holland was on sidelines due to injury.
However, the good news is that the 20-year-old is back in form and has been deemed to be at his best in U23 football; having managed to score two goals and eight assists in 11 Premier League 2 matches - Holland is attracting attention.
Manuel Pellegrini has reportedly watched the young winger in training and was an unused substitute in the recent match at Old Trafford.
But now the main focus is that Holland might get a promotion when West Ham host Southampton this weekend, Holland will be eager to impress if given his chance.
