After Antonio Rudiger picked up an injury in the 2-0 defeat to Liverpool, Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri provided an injury update on the German defender.

Rudiger’s day came to an early end on Sunday as he was carried off on the shoulders of Chelsea’s medical staff in the 40th minute of Chelsea massive game against Liverpool at Anfield. He was replaced by young Andreas Christensen, who’s been rotating in regularly for either center back all season. The 26-year-old's injury probably began around the 20-minute mark, when he accidentally tangled legs with Sadio Mané while chasing down a long ball.

Speaking in a press conference after the loss to Liverpool, Sarri hoped that Rudiger's injury would not turn out to be severe, "I hope nothing serious but at the moment I am unable to say anything. We need to get back to Cobham and have another visit with the doctor. Probably we need something else to be sure it is not serious but at the moment I am not sure."
