Pogba, Mourinho relationship breaks down
Paul Pogba and Jose Mourinho are at loggerheads at Old Trafford.
Daily Mail reports that Pogba wants his boss to alter club’s formation to allow him to play an attacking role on the left side of midfield three. The ex-Juventus man believes his ability to impact matches has been limited by the defensive duties. Mourinho has been unimpressed with Pogba's contribution to the team since Alexis Sanchez's signing from Arsenal last month.
The Special One has not used the Frenchman for a full 90 minutes since the winger’s arrival, substituting him in losses at Tottenham and Newcastle and dropping him for the home win over Huddersfield. Mourinho's position is that an individual with Pogba's physical and technical qualities should be capable of excelling in any midfield role. Pogba's failure to adhere to tactical instructions both in his defensive contribution and when in possession of the ball is understood to have annoyed the Portuguese coach.
Mou is growing frustrated with how little Pogba adheres to tactical instructions in terms of his defensive contribution and how he uses the ball when in possession. French publication L’Equipe is also reporting that Pogba is annoyed with the current role and he now ‘regrets’ his return to Old Trafford.
