UEFA CL: Ronaldo shines, Neymar cries
The long-awaited game, the battle royale. Ronaldo VS Neymar.
High flying PSG visited Real Madrid for the 1st leg of the knockout stages of the CL, and the game was nothing short of breathtaking.
Dives, a penalty and a Marcelo injury that had him screaming. This was all about the first 45 of the game. Toni Kroos dived in the 2nd minute of the game, in the penalty box and luckily for PSG, the referee turned down the appeal for a spot-kick. He was not even booked!
Marcelo collided with Dani Alves in the 9th minute with former landing awkwardly on his shoulder and screaming so loud, that Alves had to quickly summon the referee and the medical team, all concerned. At first, it looked like a shoulder injury and the end of his night out, but he was back on a minute later, even taking a throw in!
Rabiot put PSG ahead in the 33rd minute, lifting his effort over Navas into the net. The crucial away goal. Mbappe sent a good cross to the back post, looking for Neymar. Nacho made the challenge, but Rabiot was there for the second ball unmarked and was able to fire home.
In the 45th minute, Lo Celso pulled Kroos back inside the box and the referee pointed to the spot. Ronaldo couldn’t miss. He hammered his strike into the bottom corner, despite Areola guessing the correct side of the net.
