Pjanic: I said no to Arsenal

Juventus’ midfielder Miralem Pjanic has revealed he rejected advances from North London Giants, Tottenham Hotspur, and Arsenal.

“You want to know the names? They were Arsenal and Tottenham,” Pjanic told the Telegraph when asked which PL sides he has ever turned down.

Pjanic was playing for Roma when the two clubs made bids, with Spurs looking to replace Luka Modric who had moved to Real Madrid. Had he moved, he would be facing his current side {Juventus} in the final stages of the Champions League.

Pjanic is 27 and is yet to win the CL, something he still would not have achieved had he joined the two North London teams. He, however, reached the final last season, something Spurs and Arsenal are dreaming of, with the latter in the Europa League and hoping to compete in Europe's top stage next season.
