Cecafa 2017: Uganda Cranes captain upbeat ahead of South Sudan clash

06 Dec 2017, 13:46

Uganda Cranes picked an uninspiring draw against Burundi in the opening game of the 2017 Cecafa on Monday in Kakamega Kenya.

The result leaves the defending champions in a compromising situation especially after Ethiopia’s 3-0 win over South Sudan.

Cranes’ captain, Bernard Muwanga, has said that the team will pick up the pieces and organize better after watching South Sudan’s game.

-We didn’t get the results we expected but did well in our recovery training to correct the mistakes. We had a chance to watch our remaining group opponents, so we expect a better result in our next game against South Sudan. This is a game we have to win, Muwanga said.

The teams take a rest on Wednesday and resume on Thursday; Uganda will be back in action on Friday.
