Okumu's Stars back to business in South Africa

Free State Stars home to Kenyan Defender Joseph Okumu has resumed its preseason training ahead of the 2017/18 Premiership season.

The side avoided relegation in the 2016/17 season after drawing their final league match. They are keen to improve their performance next season and they have kicked off their session early in order to avoid last season struggles.

According to the club all players have reported to training except David Nkausu, Bokang Tlhone, Thabang Matuka, Angelo Kerspuy, Moeketsi Sekola, Nyiko Tshabangu, Mbuyiselo Thethani, Nhlakanipho Ntuli who have been released.

-The teams The entire Ea Lla Koto squad arrived on Tuesday morning for their first session in preparation for the new campaign, after a short end-of-season break. Every single player with the exception of the eight players released at the end of the successful bid to retain the top-flight status arrived with renewed expectations for the new season, the club announced.

Okumu joined the side from Chemelil Sugar 2016 and went on to play 525 minutes in his first season.

His stay at the club has been extended.
