Inter Milan are expected to name former AS Roma coach Luciano Spalletti as their new coach this week.

Internazionale have been without a permanent manager since the dismissal of Stefano Pioli on 9th May.

Inter and Spalletti verbally confirmed a two-year deal on Monday and the contract will be signed this week.

Spalletti confirmed he will be the Serie A side's fifth coach in the space of a year as he prepared to fly out to China to finalise the deal with the club's owners.

-It's all done because we've shaken hands, he told reporters at Milan airport

-I'm one of those old fashioned types who does things with a shake of the hand. I'm happy to be the new coach of Inter, He added.

The 58-year old helped Roma finish second with Roma this season in Serie A but left on 30 May after 16 months in charge.

Inter's ambitious Chinese owners, the Suning Group, are keen to restore the club's fortunes after a seventh-place finish in Serie A this season.
