Spurs legends rates fans' favourite Wanyama perfomance
Tottenham Hotspurs legend Ledly King believes that Kenya International Victor Wanyama has become one of the best players at the club and also a 'calming influence'.
Wanyama has started in all of Spurs league matches this season and the side has only lost twice in 24 matches.
Spurs remain unbeaten at White Hart Lane and has conceded fewer goals in the league than any other side.
King is happy with the former Southampton man perfomance during his first year in North London.
-In his first season here Victor has been one of our best players and already a fans’ favourite, he told Spur official site
-He played under the manager at Southampton and Mauricio knew what he could do, knew his capabilities and knew what he was bringing to the club, he said.
-He’s been great. He’s so strong, wins the ball back, he can play and is a calming influence on the team as well, he added.
King attributed Spurs stability at the back to the partnership between Wanyama and Belgian International Mousa Dembele.
-Our defensive record is outstanding and it’s easy to see why when you have two players like that in front of the back four or five, as well as having a top goalkeeper.
-They complement each other so well because they can do a bit of everything, he concluded.
King played for Spurs from 1999 to 2012. He made 321 appearances for the North Londoners.
