Tottenhamn Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama has admitted that the team was not at its best against Manchester City but feels that picking point from Etihad shows the fighting spirit available in the squad.

Hugo Llloris made two blunders to gift the Citizens two quick goals and Spurs fought back equalizing through Delle Alli and Heung-Min Son. Wanyama is satisfied with a draw from the clash and termed the point picked as important to the side.

Unbelievable spirit

-Today‚Äôs game shows how great everyone can believe and that the team spirit here is unbelievable. We kept on fighting even though we were not playing to our level but we showed we can dig deep and at the end of the season this can be a massive point. Son goal gave us more belief that we could get another goal and you know we are fit team and we could have continues with the same tempo even if it will be for 40 minutes, he said.

Centre back Toby Alderweird picked up a hamstring problem and was withdrawn.  Spurs boss Mauricio Pochetino then pushed Wanyama to the centre back position and brought in Harry Winks who is an attacker.

Wanyama who impressed in the role admitted that he never expected the coach to make such a change. He revealed that maximum concentration was what helped him stand tall when he one on one with the likes of Sergio Aguero and Kevin DeBryune.

-Today not our best game but you know it was tough a game, a tough place to come but at the end we are happy with one point.  Sure they have a good team and when we got an injury on Toby I though another centre back would come but I saw Harry Winks come in a I had to go back but it was not a problem. I knew City are sharp at the front and I had to just concentrate, he added.

The Harambee Stars captain was also used as a centre back while at Southampton after the Saints were hit with injuries during a Capital One match against Liverpool. Soton lost the match 6-1.
