Olunga's new coach talks of clubs potential
New Djurgardens coach Mark Dempsey feels that the club has a great potential and wants the players to give their all the upcoming fixtures.
Dempsey who once played at Manchester United takes over from Pelle Ollson who was relieved off his duties after suffering a fifth loss in a row.
Speaking during first interview after his appointment Dempsey said that he wants to ensure that the fans are happy by winning.
- It feels incredibly exciting to get to Djurgården, it is a club with great potential, with fantastic supporters and a very nice stadium. I have followed the Swedish football during my time in Norway and know quite a lot about both the Olympics and Djurgården, I know how the team plays but it has gone quickly and I have not had time to get myself any great idea of ??the squad, Dempsey told the club’s official website.
- Football should be played with heart and aggression and I want the players to always be on your toes. I place high demands on the players, I always want to win all the matches for the club and for the fans who are so involved. We can do it together and I want everyone to be happy after our matches. I usually adjust the game system for players and during the season both 3-5-2 and 5-3-2 will be used and we'll see how it goes in Djurgarden, he added.
The coach will hold his first session on Thursday 4 April and he has the task of helping the side rise to the top. They are current at position 14 with just seven points above relegation.
