Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club Enugu Rangers have confirmed the hiring of Salisu Yusuf as the new head coach of the side.
Salisu Yusuf will be replacing Benedict Ugwu, who was sacked alongside his coaching crew on Sunday following their 2-0 home defeat to Akwa Starlets in the NPFL.
That defeat was the club’s third straight loss with the earlier 1-0 home defeat to MFM on matchday-three and followed up with a 2-1 loss at Rivers United.
Media Officer of Enugu Rangers Nobert Okolie confirmed to Futaa on Thursday that Yusuf, a former Super Eagles coach, will be assisted by Mbwas Mangut and John Edeh.
His appointment by the Flying Antelopes means Yusuf will be returning to football after serving a one year ban by CAF following his complicity in a match-fixing scandal.
Mangut was Delta Force head coach before his move to Rangers.
Yusuf and Mangut will lead Rangers out on Sunday when the Flying Antelopes welcome Pyramids of Egypt in their first Group A match of the 2019/2020 CAF Confederation Cup.
