Iwobi appreciates Everton fans over new song

Alex Iwobi is thankful to Everton fans for creating a new chant with his name.

Everton fans sang "Oh Alex Iwobi" - originated from his time with the Gooners - when he scored his debut goal for the Toffees in the Carabao Cup fixture against Lincoln.

"They have one they brought from Arsenal but they have a new one that they're trying to bring along," Iwobi told Sky Sports' Rob Palmer.

"I haven't heard it as much yet, I've only heard little short clips that I've seen on social media but I wouldn't say it's an established song."

The new tune in question is "I Like to Move It" by dance act Reel 2 Real, featured in the hit film Madagascar, but Blues fans have replaced the main line "I like to move it, move it" with "Alex Iwobi-wobi"

But the Nigeria international is not convinced they have mastered the timing yet and has laid down a challenge to supporters.

"It's alright if they sing it right but sometimes it's a bit forced." Iwobi said.

"It's the thought that counts so I appreciate it."
