Manchester United striker Dillon Hoogewerf will not be part of the Netherlands U17 squad that has been chosen by head coach Mischa Visser ahead of a friendly against France according to All Nigeria Soccer.
Thirty-three players were reportedly listed on the original preliminary squad with eleven of the players placed on standby and it seems Hooegewerf's name was left out.
Reports suggest that the 16-year-old has not fully recovered from the injury he picked up during United's game against Liverpool some few days ago.
The youngster of Nigerian descent came off the pitch 24 minutes into the game to be replaced by Ayodeji Sotona.
Hoogewerf has previously been capped for U15 and U16 by the Netherlands, scoring an impressive 8 goals in 13 appearances.
De Oranjetalenten (U17) are set to take on France on September 17 and 19 at the Vondersweijde Sports Park in Oldenzaal.
