Super Falcons on Tuesday beat Algeria 1-0 at the Agege Stadium in Lagos to advance to the next round of qualifiers for the 2020 Olympics women's football event.
Asisat Oshoala's 59th minute goal separated both sides and earned the nine–time African champions all three points.
The Super Falcons moved to the next round with a 3-0 aggregate win against the North Africans.
Nigeria will now face either Mali or Cote d'Ivoire in the next round later in September.
Mali, who host Tuesday’s return leg in Bamako, lost 0-3 to the Ivorians in Abidjan last week and have a mountain to surmount against the visitors, whose game has been steadily improving over the years.
