Nothing separates Kenya from Algeria in head to head record

Harambee Stars face Algeria in the opening fixture for both teams at the 2019 African Cup of Nations with nothing to separate the two sides in the head to head record.

The two sides have faced each other seven times with Kenya winning on three occasions with Algeria matching Harambee Stars win record while a stalemate has been registered once. It is Harambee Stars however who secured bragging rights last time out after winning back in 1997.

The most memorable win for Kenya came back on 2nd June 1996 when they handed African giants Algeria a 3-1 beating in a 1998 pre-World Cup qualifier played at the Nyayo National Stadium in front of a 30,000 strong crowd. So shocking was the result, considering Algeria was an African powerhouse then, ranked 46 in the globe as at May 1996 and Kenya at 104.
