Match preview 🏆

England's defence hasn't been majorly tested at the World Cup so far, but Japan should change that with their superior technical quality coming up against's England's more physical approach. This contrast in styles and strengths makes for an intriguing and potentially tight clash.

When the teams met at the SheBelieves Cup back in March, England's Lionesses won 3-0 with a commanding performance. But on that day, Japan selected a young, virtually second-string side. This clash could well end up all square.

Players to watch 🌟

Japan's strike pairing Yuika Sugasawa and Rikako Kobayashi both scored against a talented Scotland side and they'll be the major dangers for England here.

England coach Phil Neville is well known for the fact that he isn't shy to make wholesale changes to his side. Expect the likes of Leah Williamson, Demi Stokes, Karen Carney, Georgia Stanway, Toni Duggan (fitness permitting) & Lucy Staniforth to come into the side for Steph Houghton, Alex Greenwood, Nikita Parris, Frank Kirby, Jill Scott and Beth Mead.
