Revealed: SA Premier League leads as Africa’s most represented at AFCON 2019

AFCON 2019 kicks off in Egypt this Friday 21 June. Futaa looks at which CAF league has the highest representation.

A quick look at the continent’s league representation has revealed that South Africa’s Premier Soccer League, also known as the Absa Premiership leads with the most players at AFCON 2019.

The statistic was revealed by leading African football journalist Nuhu Adams via Twitter last weekend.  South Africa's domestic league leads at the top followed by Egypt and Tanzania. On the opposite end, Cameroon, Zimbabwe, Senegal and Guinea have no player represntatives at this year's event.

  • Angola - 13
  • Kenya - 12
  • Zambia - 10
