CAF delivers official Umbro match ball to teams participating in the AFCON

The Confederation Association of Football (CAF) has ensured all countries participating in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations have received official Umbro match balls.

The ball was used in most of the friendly matches played over the weekend as the teams put finals touches before the tournament, which is scheduled to kick off on Friday, June 21st.

Each participating country has received 30 Umbro leather footballs to train with ahead of the tournament, with the main essence being all 24 countries to get accustomed to the round ball before the start of the tournament on 21 June 2019.

Umbro was picked by the confederation to deliver the balls, winning the tender ahead of mitre, who supplied the balls used in the last tournament.

The month-long tournament will be staged across five Egyptian towns, with the finals set to be played on July 19th.

This will be the first time the tournament will have 24 teams, up from the previous 16 teams in previous tournaments.

Cameroon are the defending champions, but African giants in Senegal, Morocco, Tunisia and hosts Egypt will be battling to wrestle the title.
