Park Ji-sung reveals where Manchester United's season went wrong
Former Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-sung has revealed that after being knocked out of the Champions League, the club suffered "psychological pressure" which led to their poor end to the season.
United suffered a torrid end to the season winning only two of their last 12 games a run with cost them a place in the UEFA Champions League next season. Solskjaer had a perfect start to his tenure at Old Trafford as he won eight straight games since taking charge back in December. The Red Devils were knocked out by Barcelona in the quarter-finals, 4-0 on aggregate.
In an interview with Goal, Park pinpointed where United's season went wrong, "I believe there was a psychological issue. At the beginning of his time as a manager at Man United, there was a strong motivation for finishing top four and also Champions League.
“But, after they were knocked out of the Champions League, and lost a game in the league, they suffered from the pressure. I believe that kind of psychological pressure was hard for the players."
