With Gor Mahia having clinched their unprecedented 18th league title, head coach Hassan Oktay insists that he is happy at the club despite offers from Turkey, Angola, and Egypt and will make only minimal changes to his squad in the transfer window.
Bandari's barren draw against Mathare United handed Gor Mahia the title even before they picked up a 1-1 stalemate with Vihiga United on Wednesday 22nd May. K'Ogalo have already roped in Hashim Sempala from Tusker in the mid-season transfer window as Oktay notes that there will not be a lot of transfer activities at the club after the season.
Oktay revealed his transfer plans in the coming window, "The coaching staff were talking about this and of course one or two will go one or two will come in but I don't want to get rid of more players because of the spirit we have, the players love this football club and I don't want to touch that. We are like family, I've coached in Europe, Asia, and Africa, I can tell you that only one team touch my heart and that is Gor Mahia."
When queried if he has received offers from any club, the Turkish-Cypriot replied, "Yes, I can tell you straight. I did before I even won the league, Angola two clubs, Egypt one club, and Turkey two clubs but what I said to them is that I'm happy where I am."
