Mashemeji Derby Gate Collection revealed

AFC Leopards has revealed the amount they collected from gate collections during their Sunday Kenyan Premier League (KPL) derby clash against arch-rivals Gor Mahia.

In the list released by the club on their official social media feeds, there was a total of 234 fans who bought the VIP tickets which went for Ksh 500 each; the total amount collected from the section totalling to Ksh 117000.

The largest number was witnessed in the terrace where a total of 11754 fans bought the tickets which went for Ksh 200; this section handing the club a total of Ksh 2,350,800.

Leopards being the home team then had to use the total amount to cater for some of the expenses in the stadium.

Total Amount

Of the total amount collected, 15% went to the Stadium management, 10% went to Ticket providers Big Brother with ticket printing taking away Ksh 177,040. With a heavy police presence during the match, the club parted away with 100000 to pay the 100 policemen who manned the game.

The 76 club’s matchday stewards went home with Ksh 93,100 with the 36 stewards provided by Big Brother pocketing Ksh 36000. Ticket seals cost the club Ksh 33, 000 with the Public Address group going home with Ksh 25, 000.

Two ambulances with extra personnel pocket Ksh 24000, supervisory Ksh 16000, van hire Ksh 8000, Gadaa and Isikuti dancers going home with Ksh 6000 with the ball boys picking Ksh 5000; all these bringing the total expenditure to Ksh 1,140,090.

With the deduction, the club had Ksh 1,327,710 to bank.

With the loss, Leopards remained tenth on the league log with 39 points.
