Leicester City boss reveals his plan for Iheanacho

11 May 2019, 16:45

Leicester Brendan Rodgers boss has revealed he is planning to develop Kelechi Iheanacho and restore his lost confidence.

The Nigerian who was heavily slammed for missing a seater against Manchester City on Monday night as his side suffered a 1-0 defeat to the league leaders. Rodgers has admitted a loan switch is on the cards in a bid to get Kelechi more game time and restore his sharpness in front of the goal.

“It’s a possibility, it’s not something I’m thinking about,” said Rodgers.

“He’s a boy that’s just got to where he’s got to on his pure natural talent. He’s played some games for Manchester City and we’ve seen what he can do in his few appearances there.

“I think when you come into a club like here with a hefty price tag, maybe you can try and force things too much as a young player. Normally after that that season of adaptation then things can happen for you.

The 22-year-old has endured a difficult season, netting only two goals in 36 appearances for the Foxes.
