Europa League Betting Preview: Arsenal & Chelsea face stern tests

The Europa League takes centre stage tonight with Arsenal & Chelsea both looking to gain first-leg advantages. We've got the lowdown on tonight's major matches and our best bets for the evening.

Rennes vs Arsenal

Progress in the Europa League is something Emery has targeted from the get-go, and although the Gunners had a scare when they lost 1-0 at BATE Borisov in the last 32, they have generally performed well in this competition and have taken it seriously. After all, winning the UEL could be Arsenal's best route to next season's Champions League. Alexandre Lacazette is suspended after a red card against BATE in Belarus, so Aubameyang is likely to lead the line. Mesut Ozil could start after only getting a substitute's role against Tottenham.

Rennes score freely at home, but they are hardly solid defensively. Five of their last nine games in all competitions have featured at least three goals, as have six of their last ten matches on home soil. With Arsenal having only won two of their last nine on the road in Europe, this could be a difficult night for them.

Chelsea vs Dynamo Kiev

Chelsea's mini-revival has seen them beat Tottenham and Fulham in consecutive London derby clashes in the Premier League, but their focus here is a home clash with Dynamo Kiev in the Europa League. Without a clean sheet against Fulham, Kiev might fancy their chances of grabbing an away goal. However, Chelsea should be too strong here against the Ukrainian side.

Dinamo Zagreb vs Benfica

Benfica will travel to Zagreb in great spirits having leapfrogged Porto to the top of the Liga NOS table by beating their rivals at the weekend and are certainly a prime candidate to win this year's Europa League. It won't be easy though against a side that's unbeaten at home in the competition this season. Teenage star Joao Felix should start for the visitors, considering their injuries in attack.

FUTAA BET: Both teams to score

Sevilla vs Slavia Prague

The Europa League has offered light relief from a terrible run of form for Sevilla, with two victories in the round of 32 against Lazio representing their only wins in their last eight matches. Slavia has beaten the likes of Bordeaux and Zenit this season so they'll be no walkover, but Sevilla should be strong enough to grind out a win.

FUTAA BET: Sevilla win

Napoli vs Red Bull Salzburg

This has all the ingredients to be the tie of the round. Napoli is one of the firm favourites for the competition but Salzburg has been solid in the Europa League over the last two years. Napoli lost on the weekend to Juventus, their first defeat on home soil all season, and they'll be eager to put that right immediately. We are expecting goals in this tie.
