Mourinho provides an injury update on Martial
After hobbling off with an injury in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal on Wednesday 6th November, Anthony Martial should be fit to face Fulham on Saturday as Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho revealed that his injury was not that serious.
Martial got his perfect birthday present after he equalized in the 30th minute canceling out Shkodran Mustafi’s opener. The Frenchman, however, picked up an injury in the 63rd minute and was replaced by Romelu Lukaku after what looked like a muscle injury. Martial started from the bench in the 2-2 draw against Southampton over the weekend.
Mourinho revealed that Martial was withdrawn as a precautionary measure, “He doesn't think it is an injury. He thinks it's a pre-injury, he was feeling tight.” Mourinho went on laud his front three in the game that comprised of Martial, Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford, “They played well. They gave good dynamic, good intensity, good movement, and we need that, we needed that happiness.
“Especially in moments where we are not very happy with the result we need happiness on the pitch, we need people that gives that good feeling and the three young guys up front, all of them quite light, but alive, agile, creative, they were good.”
