Migne, Wanyama cautious of AFCON qualification dream
Harambee Stars head coach Sebastian Migne and captain Victor Wanyama are in agreement that they can now dream of qualifying for AFCON 2019 in Cameroon but adds that only positive results will help achieve the goal.
Kenya picked a total of four points over Ethiopia with a convincing 3-0 win at Kasarani that was preceded by a goalless draw in Ethiopia. They beat Ghana at home in the second match day and now have seven points overall. The French tactician still has his plans stuck on Sierra Leone who were suspended by FIFA and could not play the doubleheader against Ghana. Should FIFA lifts the suspension, Kenya will face Leone next month.
“I think we are on the way and this win today is a huge one for us. We are not yet there and we have to remain humble. We played fantastic football in front of a full stadium and that gave us a lot of energy. We will see if we play next month against Sierra Leone but I am happy because I know we can now dream,” Migne said.
“We played like a team and everyone gave their best. There was no way we could let down the fans and now the journey to AFCON continues. We will keep working hard in every game and ensure we get results,” Wanyama said.
