United legend slams Mourinho

Paul Scholes is admittedly disappointed with Jose Mourinho’s team selection in their 2-1 Champions League loss to Sevilla.

Speaking at an interview with BT Sport following the match, Scholes said, “There was no desire, energy or speed about the team. I can’t explain it. They keep spending money and yet you hear they are supposedly three or four players away.”

The former midfielder continued, “There are players in that United squad to play good attacking football. Marcus Rashford was frightening on that left side on Saturday, but he moved him to bring Sanchez into what he thinks is his best position.”

Missing Sanchez

Scholes further questioned Mourinho’s choice to use Sanchez by adding, “He gave the ball away so often and his manager has to see that in the ten games he has played, he has not been good.

The Englishman concluded, “He (Mourinho) needs to choose his best front three and be brave enough to leave one out. At the moment, Sanchez is the one to leave out.”

Many agree that Mourinho is putting too much faith in Sanchez, who appears to be lost on the pitch of the late. Perhaps the Chilean should be afforded some time on the bench in order to do some much needed soul searching so that he may regain his form moving forward.
