Arsenal, Liverpool dealt huge snub

Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland has downplayed speculations that he will leave the club this summer.

The Englishman recently took to his Twitter account to address a rumour which had alleged that the stopper had asked to leave Stoke - a development that had hinted that league rivals Arsenal and Liverpool were poised to benefit from his exit.

Butland wrote, “Before this spreads any further, I haven’t told the club I want to leave, I’m focused on doing everything I can to keep the club in this division! Stop believing everything you read!”

This development is undoubtedly a huge blow for both Arsenal and Liverpool, who had hoped to make a £40m swoop for the doorman in the upcoming window to replace struggling current options Loris Karius (and Simon Mignolet) and Petr Cech respectively.
