Manchester City is set to offer goalkeeper Ederson a stunning new deal, barely seven months after joining.

The Citizens made Ederson one of the most expensive shot stoppers of all-time in the summer when they paid Benfica £34.9m for his services. Since joining the league leaders, he has been sensation.

“The club is already looking at giving Ederson a new deal at the club. He was an expensive purchase but has been worth every penny. He has delighted Pep how quickly he’s settled in. There is not a rush on him but the club will make sure he is looked after in the long-term.” An Etihad source said.

The likes of David Silva, Fernandinho, Nicolas Otamendi and Kevin De Bruyne have been convinced to sign new contracts this season and now Guardiola’s side has turned attention to Ederson to do the same. Ederson, who is contract to Manchester City until 2022, is currently earning £70,000-a-week but the Sun reports that City are keen to reward him with a bumper new contract to reflect his importance to the team.
