Injury update: Barca handed huge boost

Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele has reportedly resumed first-team training after three months on the sidelines.

The Spanish giants shared a photo of the Frenchman taking part in a series of warm-up exercises on their official Instagram account, hyping up their multitude of passionate followers on the 20-year-old’s imminent return to action in the not-so-distant future.

Dembele tore his hamstring on his first full debut and third appearance for the Catalans soon after making a highly publicised £138m switch from Bundesliga aces Borussia Dortmund last summer. The talisman subsequently underwent reparative surgery in September, which was expected to keep the linchpin out for at least three months.

Barca boss Ernesto Valverde now hopes that the marksman, who was brought in to fill the void created by the departure of goal-getter Neymar Jr, will be deemed fit to compete in their upcoming El Clasico clash against bitter rivals Real Madrid on December 23.
