United ace takes responsibility for CL loss

Manchester United defender Daley Blind has reportedly admitted that he is to blame for their 1-0 Champions League group stage loss.

The Dutchman was speaking in a press conference following the disheartening defeat where he stated - The second half went up and down, they created the possibility, gave a good cross, he (Lang) came round the back and I was a bit late.

Blind was indeed largely responsible for the unwanted outcome since the left-back momentarily lost concentration in the dying moments of the match allowing Basel right-back Michael Lang to easily tap-in the match’s only goal in the 89th minute.

The former Ajax star, however, insisted that the defeat is no cause for alarm and further emphasised that the English giants do not need a ‘reality check’ since they still have ‘enough confidence in the group moving forward’.
