Zesco United spurned a priceless lead late on and an opportunity to move top of the league standings after being held  to a 1-1 draw by Power Dynamos on Tuesday 24 October in Ndola.

The former league champions approached the tie on back of a 3-0 win over Lusaka Dynamos but were kept waiting before finding their way past Power.

Lazarous Kamboole's 54th minute strike off a delivery from Jesse Were handed the host the lead in the rescheduled tie.

Pegged back

Their defense marshalled David Owino and Ben Bahn did survive few scares towards the end but they ultimately paid the price for late on after Alex Ngong'a pegged them back with an 87th minute equalizer.

With the draw, Zesco, who have two games in hand  is ranked third with four points behind leader Zanaco and one behind second placed Green Buffaloes with six games to play.

The 2015 champions finished second to Zanaco in the 2016 season.
