Barcelona CEO Oscar Grau has reportedly revealed that the Spanish giants are prepared to make another attempt at landing Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho in January.

Grau was speaking in a recent press conference where the bigwig admitted that the Catalans are ‘ready to buy Coutinho in the winter market’ after failing to agree on a deal with Liverpool for the Brazilian last summer.

Barca director Albert Soler recently went on record to disclose that the Reds had rejected a number of bids of up to around £138m for the 25-year-old and that talks ultimately hit a wall when the English side demanded £180m for the playmaker - claims that Liverpool categorically denied.

The La Liga aces’ hopes may not be misplaced as Coutinho recently hinted that Liverpool would allow him to leave come January - a development which has since been corroborated by a reputable Spanish news outlet.
