Sunshine Stars FC on Wednesday June 7, 2017 fell 2-1 as league leaders Plateau United returned to winning ways.

After suffering a 1-0 defeat in Ibadan on Sunday, coach Austin Eguavoen could not see Sunshine Stars past the Jos team, who came from behind to claim all three points in Akure.

Sunshine went ahead in the 34th minute through Ezekiel Thompson.

But Plateau United drew level after the break through Emmanuel Odafe.

The Jos club, led by Kennedy Boboye took the lead before Sunshine goalkeeper David Ariyo was sent off for protesting the goal, leading to a lengthy pause of the game.

Plateau United now reclaim their five points lead after MFM lost to Lobi Stars in Makurdi.
