Dortmund sign Reus replacement
Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of Maximilian Philipp from Freiburg.
BVB have continued with their busy summer by capturing Freiburg talent Philipp. Dortmund secured the services of manager Peter Bosz on Tuesday after parting ways with Thomas Tuchel. The new boss has wasted no time in bringing in new faces to the club following the arrival of Philipp who was once a target during Tuchel’s reign.
The Germany international who joined Freiburg in 2012 made his debut for the club in 2014. The midfielder has had a wonderful season helping his side finish seventh with 48 points. Philipp emerged the third-highest goal scorer, netting nine goals in 25 matches. English side Tottenham Hotspur were also interested in the 23 year old, but Dortmund have won the race by signing the talent for a reported fee of £12.2m.
BVB fans will certainly welcome the arrival of the star, particularly following Marco Reus’ recent injury in the attacking department.
