Madrid “open” to bid from United for ace

Reputable sources claim that La Liga champions Real Madrid are willing to have discussions with English giants Manchester United over a potential move for winger Gareth Bale.

News recently broke that the Red Devils may make a play for the Welshman, especially if the 27-year-old missed out on a spot in Zinedine Zidane’s starting XI to face Serie A powerhouse Juventus in their monumental Champions League clash on Saturday. The pacy forward was however later included in the squad.

The Los Blancos have for some time been interested in acquiring United goalie David de Gea, even going as far as to allegedly table a £60m bid to acquire the Spaniard. Boss Jose Mourinho was rumoured to have proposed a swap which included playmaker James Rodriguez, but the Special One seems to have later changed his minded and insisted that De Gea would not be leaving Old Trafford.

A bid for Bale could possibly open up that conversation again, more so after speculations arose that Mourinho is interested in acquiring defender Raphael Varane to further bolster his squad on the defensive end.
