Striker Peter Odemwingie is under suspension at his Indonesian top flight club, Madura United.

The Nigerian forward will miss Wednesday’s Indonesian Liga 1 game against Gresik United.

Odemwingie is under a one-match suspension because he picked up a yellow card, his fifth booking of the season, meaning he will be suspended for a game according to the club's official website.

The 35-year-old former West Brom striker is the joint top scorer in the Indonesian premier league with Persela Lamongan's striker Ivan Coelho, on five goals apiece.

Madura United will also be without Asep Berlian,Rizki Dwi Febrianto and Dane Milovanovic.

-It's not their fault, they got yellow carded in those games and cannot play in the next game (against Gresik United). This is the risk of the game in every competition, Madura United Club President, Achsanul Qosasi was quoted on the club's official website.

-All players must remain compact and immediately prepare to face the next game.

Madura United are presently fourth in the Indonesian top flight division with 13 points from eight games and they will hope they can perform well in the absence of Odemwingie who has been a huge inspiration since his arrival.
