NPFL: Akwa United whitewash ABS

Akwa United continued their impressive run in the second stanza of the Nigeria Professional Football League with a 3-0 whitewash of ABS FC in a Matchday 21 match on Sunday.

Akwa United played out a goalless draw against MFM FC to share the spoil in the Matchday 20 tie played in Lagos last week.

Musa Newman heads home from six yards from an Ebiye's cross to put Akwa United in the lead in the 33rd minute.

Friday Ubong extended Akwa’s lead in the 60th minute before Gabriel Okechukwu sealed victory with a third goal, ten minutes from time.

The result takes Akwa United to 5th place with 33 points from 21 matches.

ABS now dropped one place to the 11th spot, with 28 points from 21 games.
