Ligue 1 Update: PSG down and out?

01 May 2017, 09:30

Ligue 1 title holders PSG seem to have handed the league to Monaco as they lost 3-1 to Nice on Sunday night, with red cards shown to Angel Di Maria and Thiago Motta.

Mario Balotelli opened the scoring and Ricardo Pereira doubled Nice’s lead in the second half and despite Marquinhos pulling one back for PSG, their defeat was sealed when Anastasios Donis scored in injury time.

Motta was the first of the pair to be dismissed for headbutting Paul Baysse in the 90th minute before Di Maria was sent off for a reckless challenge on Arnaud Souquet.

Unai Emery’s second-placed side trail Monaco, who have a game in hand, by three points with PSG having just three matches remaining.
