NPFL: Enugu Rangers find rhythm against Kano Pillars

Enugu Rangers on Sunday April 23, 2017 did everything right to beat Kano Pillars 3-1 in a matchday 9 rescheduled game of the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Rangers have been woeful in both the continental championship and the local league.

But on Sunday, Rangers started off well when a penalty was awarded them in the 1st minute of action after Ifeanyi George was felled in the box.

Chibuzor Madu converted from the spot the next minute to the excitement of the scanty fans.

Four minutes later, Chiamaka Madu doubled the lead for the champions before George scored on his debut for Rangers and extended their lead in the 45th minute.

Just before the referee sounded the half time whistle, Adamu Mohammed pulled one back for Pillars.

After the break, it was attacking and defending for both sides, though Rangers were more in charge of the game as the tie ended 3-1 in their favour.

The win has now taken Rangers to 16 points from 15 games, while Kano Pillars are on 24 points from 19 games.
